I have been encouraging and inviting my students at PSU to participate in the NAMI Walk (National Alliance on Mental Illness). It was held on Sunday, May 15th at 12N, at the East-bank Esplanade, near the OMSI museum. About 45+ students attended the NAMI walk this afternoon (15th). A bit of rain didn't hold us back! The event was for a great cause - even got a moment to meet Senator Wyden.
The work NAMI does is very important to our communities, many health care agencies (i.e. Providence Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Emanuel, Oregon Organization of Health Care and Hospitals, & Lifeworks) had representatives at the walk.
